Equivariant neural networks and piecewise linear representation theory

[Submitted on 1 Aug 2024] View a PDF of the paper titled Equivariant neural networks and piecewise linear representation theory, by Joel Gibson and 1 other authors View PDF Abstract:Equivariant neural networks are neural networks with symmetry. Motivated by the theory of group representations, we decompose the layers of an equivariant neural network into simple representations. The nonlinear activation functions lead to interesting nonlinear equivariant maps between simple representations. For example, the rectified linear unit (ReLU) gives rise to piecewise linear maps. We show that these considerations lead to a filtration of equivariant neural networks, generalizing Fourier series. This observation…

Stellar Cyber introduced Multi-Layer AI™ in One Platform

Stellar Cyber introduced Multi-Layer AI™ in One Platform

AI Breakthrough Slashes Threat Detection and Response Time by Orders of Magnitude to Supercharge Analysts’ Efficiency and Reduce Risks and Costs Stellar Cyber, the most open, automation-driven security operations platform powered by Open XDR, is introducing Multi-Layer AI. Multi-Layer AI incorporates four distinct technologies – Machine Learning (ML), Graph ML, Generative AI, and Hyper Automation – all in a single unified platform that reduces threat detection and response time. Multi-Layer AI extends Stellar Cyber’s long-time AI leadership in the cybersecurity solutions market. The company pioneered the use of AI in a SecOps platform with the debut of its Open XDR…

Elon Musk sues OpenAI again, alleging ‘deceit of Shakespearean proportions’

Elon Musk is once again suing OpenAI and its chief executive, Sam Altman, resurrecting a case against his former partners that now claims they manipulated him into co-founding the artificial intelligence company.Months after abruptly withdrawing a similar lawsuit without explanation, Musk filed a new lawsuit on Monday in a northern California federal court. His latest complaint claims the case is a “textbook tale of altruism versus greed”, repeating allegations in his previous suit that his former co-founders in OpenAI betrayed him by turning the company from a non-profit into a largely for-profit enterprise. “The perfidy and deceit is of Shakespearean proportions,”…

Visible-Thermal Multiple Object Tracking: Large-scale Video Dataset and Progressive Fusion Approach

Visible-Thermal Multiple Object Tracking: Large-scale Video Dataset and Progressive Fusion Approach

arXiv:2408.00969v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: The complementary benefits from visible and thermal infrared data are widely utilized in various computer vision task, such as visual tracking, semantic segmentation and object detection, but rarely explored in Multiple Object Tracking (MOT). In this work, we contribute a large-scale Visible-Thermal video benchmark for MOT, called VT-MOT. VT-MOT has the following main advantages. 1) The data is large scale and high diversity. VT-MOT includes 582 video sequence pairs, 401k frame pairs from surveillance, drone, and handheld platforms. 2) The cross-modal alignment is highly accurate. We invite several professionals to perform both spatial and temporal…

New Zelda footage features cute horseback riding and uh, smoothie shops

Nintendo just dropped for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. That’s the top-down Switch entry instead of Link. The six-minute video focuses on “traversing Hyrule,” so there’s plenty of cool stuff here about the kingdom and, more importantly, the overworld map. This looks like a brand-new map. Many people had assumed this game would lift the map from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Some of the landmarks, however, are in the same place. The castle is at the center, for instance, and the mountains are up top. NintendoOtherwise,…

Using LLMs For Kubernetes: Enter k8sgpt

GenAI and LLMs are a big “buzz” right now, but there’s some “good” behind it - automation. In an environment like Kubernetes, GenAI can be used for Automation 2.0. It can remove the tedious and repetitive tasks for you that you don’t need to do anything, just like when automation first started to become popular. GenAI is just taking it a step further. In this blog post, you’ll learn how to use Automation 2.0 to scan and help troubleshoot a Kubernetes cluster. Environment k8sgpt works on any Kubernetes cluster. If you don’t already have a Kubernetes cluster up and running,…

Elon Musk revives OpenAI legal battle with fresh allegations

Elon Musk’s revived lawsuit against OpenAI includes fresh allegations against the company and two of its founders, Sam Altman and Greg Brockman. This new legal salvo comes after Musk withdrew a previous lawsuit in June. The earlier suit had primarily focused on claims that OpenAI had breached its founding agreement to keep the company’s technology open source. The fresh complaint, however, takes a more aggressive stance. Musk’s legal team alleges that Altman and Brockman “assiduously manipulated Musk into co-founding their spurious non-profit venture” by making promises about OpenAI’s safety and transparency that set it apart from profit-driven alternatives. The lawsuit…
