Mamba? Catch The Hype Or Rethink What Really Helps for Image Registration

Mamba? Catch The Hype Or Rethink What Really Helps for Image Registration

arXiv:2407.19274v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Our findings indicate that adopting "advanced" computational elements fails to significantly improve registration accuracy. Instead, well-established registration-specific designs offer fair improvements, enhancing results by a marginal 1.5% over the baseline. Our findings emphasize the importance of rigorous, unbiased evaluation and contribution disentanglement of all low- and high-level registration components, rather than simply following the computer vision trends with "more advanced" computational blocks. We advocate for simpler yet effective solutions and novel evaluation metrics that go beyond conventional registration accuracy, warranting further research across diverse organs and modalities. I’m a straight-passing woman. I’m tired of having to come out all the time.

I’m a straight-passing woman. I’m tired of having to come out all the time.

"You don't look gay" is something I hear often. In queer terms, I present as "femme" since I choose to wear my hair long and clothes that society associates with being feminine. These antiquated gender standards result in folks wrongfully presuming my sexuality simply based on their preconceived notions about my appearance.I'm mistakenly labeled as straight daily, which makes me feel invisible. The emotional labor of clarifying I'm pansexual and am attracted to people — not gender — takes a toll on my mental health and makes me feel like my sexuality is invalid. The effects of constantly coming outStraight-passing women being…

Prompt2DeModel: Declarative Neuro-Symbolic Modeling with Natural Language

[Submitted on 30 Jul 2024] View a PDF of the paper titled Prompt2DeModel: Declarative Neuro-Symbolic Modeling with Natural Language, by Hossein Rajaby Faghihi and 4 other authors View PDF Abstract:This paper presents a conversational pipeline for crafting domain knowledge for complex neuro-symbolic models through natural language prompts. It leverages large language models to generate declarative programs in the DomiKnowS framework. The programs in this framework express concepts and their relationships as a graph in addition to logical constraints between them. The graph, later, can be connected to trainable neural models according to those specifications. Our proposed pipeline utilizes techniques like…

‘Date Like Goblins’ Thinks Playing Games Can Fix Dating Apps

Meanwhile, Match Group, which owns Tinder, Hinge, and other dating apps, has seen mixed results on its apps. Together with Bumble, which offended many with a disastrous ad campaign earlier this year (the company apologized), the big apps have lost $40 billion in market value since 2021. Bumble reported 10 percent growth in revenue year over year, and also refreshed its app, while Tinder grew 1 percent in revenue and Hinge by nearly 50 percent year over year, according to Match. But if Hinge, Bumble, and Tinder are the packed, noisy singles bars of online dating, these smaller apps are…
