Towards Open Domain Text-Driven Synthesis of Multi-Person Motions

Towards Open Domain Text-Driven Synthesis of Multi-Person Motions

arXiv:2405.18483v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: This work aims to generate natural and diverse group motions of multiple humans from textual descriptions. While single-person text-to-motion generation is extensively studied, it remains challenging to synthesize motions for more than one or two subjects from in-the-wild prompts, mainly due to the lack of available datasets. In this work, we curate human pose and motion datasets by estimating pose information from large-scale image and video datasets. Our models use a transformer-based diffusion framework that accommodates multiple datasets with any number of subjects or frames. Experiments explore both generation of multi-person static poses and generation…

I tried the biggest burgers at 5 fast-food chains and my favorite tasted fresh off the grill

I tried the biggest burgers at 5 fast-food chains and my favorite tasted fresh off the grill

The biggest burgers at fast-food chains are usually more expensive, but how do they rank in terms of taste and value?Price is a hot topic when it comes to fast food. Business Insider previously reported on how hikes in fast-food prices and the rumored practice of "shrinkflation" — a phenomenon in which customers claim menu items are getting smaller while either remaining the same price or costing more — are upsetting customers.I recently compared six of the biggest burgers sold at fast-food chains, testing burgers from McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, In-N-Out, and Shake Shack to see how they stacked up…

LLMs and Memorization: On Quality and Specificity of Copyright Compliance

LLMs and Memorization: On Quality and Specificity of Copyright Compliance

arXiv:2405.18492v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Memorization in large language models (LLMs) is a growing concern. LLMs have been shown to easily reproduce parts of their training data, including copyrighted work. This is an important problem to solve, as it may violate existing copyright laws as well as the European AI Act. In this work, we propose a systematic analysis to quantify the extent of potential copyright infringements in LLMs using European law as an example. Unlike previous work, we evaluate instruction-finetuned models in a realistic end-user scenario. Our analysis builds on a proposed threshold of 160 characters, which we borrow…

Mozilla is investigating huge Telemetry performance issues in Firefox for Android – gHacks Tech News

Mozilla, maker of the open source Firefox web browser, has launched an investigation to analyze the impact of Telemetry on the browser's performance on Android. According to the initial report, Telemetry is causing huge overhead in Firefox for Android. This impacts the loading of websites, but also the browser's startup. A test on CNN, for instance, concluded that Telemetry was adding 16.5 seconds of extra CPU time to the loading of the site. Mozilla writes: "This means that device disks are getting hammered with writes on all occasions: page load, scrolling, video playback, startup. For example, we have observed hundreds…
