In my roundups over the last two days at Computex 2024, I received feedback that there was too much of a focus on large AI, and not enough on the small AI that many more people are likely to be working on. So, we have an interview with NXP Semiconductors executive VP and CTO Lars Reger, recorded just before he delivered his keynote speech on the second day of Computex.
In this interview, he talks about edge AI, the role of Taiwan and startups. You can watch the video interview below:
Speaking of startups, Reger said he would also be talking at the special startup focused part of Computex, called InnoVEX, held concurrently with Computex.

This year, InnoVEX, which features some 400 startups from 30 countries and regions, focuses on AI, green tech, semiconductor applications and smart mobility. As part of this, I also had the opportunity to moderate 11 startup pitches on the Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) Pavilion at InnoVEX. These startups included DeepWave (an AI audio processing platform), Ranictek (a developer of 5G and beyond baseband chips), Decentralized Biotechnology Intelligence (an AIoT health wearable tech company), Jmemtek (a cybersecurity chip IP company), Racer Tech (a display IC company), and Wisdomer (a drone developer).
