Mozilla blames recaptcha issue in Firefox on Google – gHacks Tech News

Mozilla confirmed a recaptcha issue in the organization's Firefox web browser yesterday evening. Affected Firefox users see a spinning animation when they try to solve the captcha, which means that they are unable to do so. The result is that they cannot access the website or service. A workaround is available. The issue affects all major versions of Firefox for Windows that are supported  by Mozilla as well as older versions. This includes Firefox 125, the current stable version of Firefox, the development versions 126 and 127, and also Firefox ESR 115. Mozilla says that the issue is not caused…

But after about a year on the market, ASUS’ portable is getting a major revamp and it feels like it’s becoming the device we wanted all along. Now just to be clear, the Ally X isn’t a true sequel to the original, it’s more of a mid-cycle refresh similar to what back in 2019. Error v/s Exception

Error v/s Exception

Have you ever been confused between an error and an exception? We often tend to use these words interchangeably. Well, they are not the same, since they have nuanced differences. RT-2: New model translates vision and language into action

Research Published 28 July 2023 Authors Yevgen Chebotar, Tianhe Yu Robotic Transformer 2 (RT-2) is a novel vision-language-action (VLA) model that learns from both web and robotics data, and translates this knowledge into generalised instructions for robotic controlHigh-capacity vision-language models (VLMs) are trained on web-scale datasets, making these systems remarkably good at recognising visual or language patterns and operating across different languages. But for robots to achieve a similar level of competency, they would need to collect robot data, first-hand, across every object, environment, task, and situation. In our paper, we introduce Robotic Transformer 2 (RT-2), a novel vision-language-action (VLA) model…

How to block Windows 11 from encrypting drives during installation – gHacks Tech News

A clean installation of Windows 10 or Windows 11 may enable Bitlocker drive encryption automatically. The main system partition and all fixed drives will be encrypted in this case after the out-of-box experience. Bitlocker protects data on the PC against unauthorized access by encrypting partitions and drives. Microsoft calls this specific BitLocker feature device encryption: "Device encryption is a Windows feature that provides a simple way for some devices to enable BitLocker encryption automatically". Problem is, since the encryption process happens automatically in this case, users may not be aware of it. This can lead to issues, for instance when…

Deephaven’s modernized time library | Deephaven

Deephaven Core v0.25 introduces major changes to modernize and standardize its date-time handling. The query libraries were originally written more than a decade ago. Over that time, Java's approach to date-time data has changed, so a rewrite was in order. v0.25 brings Deephaven up to speed with current standards. This rewrite is a breaking change. Your data is safe but many of your queries may need to be updated. A stable API is a high priority for Deephaven and our customers; we did not take this decision lightly. Instead of a series of small changes, we decided that one large change…

Research Published 29 August 2023 Authors Sven Gowal, Pushmeet Kohli New tool helps watermark and identify synthetic images created by ImagenAI-generated images are becoming more popular every day. But how can we better identify them, especially when they look so realistic?Today, in partnership with Google Cloud, we’re launching a beta version of SynthID, a tool for watermarking and identifying AI-generated images. This technology embeds a digital watermark directly into the pixels of an image, making it imperceptible to the human eye, but detectable for identification.SynthID is being released to a limited number of Vertex AI customers using Imagen, one of…
