NeuraSpace platform assets jump tenfold

NeuraSpace platform assets jump tenfold

PARIS – In six months, Portuguese startup NeuraSpace has gone from 25 to 250 satellites on its space traffic management platform. “For NeuraSpace, the ball is rolling,” Chiara Manfletti, NeuraSpace chief operating officer, told SpaceNews at the World Satellite Business Week conference here. The latest customer is South Africa’s Dragonfly Aerospace. Dragonfly announced plans Sept. 11 to rely on NeuraSpace for conjunction analysis and maneuver suggestions for Dragonfly’s EOS SAT-1. EOS-SAT-1 is the first of seven satellites Dragonfly plans to launch to gather agriculture and forestry data. “For us to partner with Dragonfly, a truly commercial company, where they see…

Building High-Quality and Trusted Data Products with Databricks

Building High-Quality and Trusted Data Products with Databricks

IntroductionOrganizations aiming to become AI and data-driven often need to provide their internal teams with high-quality and trusted data products. Building such data products ensures that organizations establish standards and a trustworthy foundation of business truth for their data and AI objectives. One approach for putting quality and usability at the forefront is through the use of the data mesh paradigm to democratize the ownership and management of data assets. Our blog posts (Part 1, Part 2) offer guidance on how customers can leverage Databricks in their enterprise to address data mesh's foundational pillars, one of which is "data as…

Trying to tame AI: Seoul summit flags hurdles to regulation

The Bletchley Park artificial intelligence summit in 2023 was a landmark event in AI regulation simply by virtue of its existence.Between the event’s announcement and its first day, the mainstream conversation had changed from a tone of light bafflement to a general agreement that AI regulation may be worth discussing. However, the task for its follow-up, held at a research park on the outskirts of Seoul this week, is harder: can the UK and South Korea show that governments are moving from talking about AI regulation to actually delivering it?At the end of the Seoul summit, the big achievement the UK…

AnalogCoder: Analog Circuit Design via Training-Free Code Generation

AnalogCoder: Analog Circuit Design via Training-Free Code Generation

arXiv:2405.14918v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Analog circuit design is a significant task in modern chip technology, focusing on the selection of component types, connectivity, and parameters to ensure proper circuit functionality. Despite advances made by Large Language Models (LLMs) in digital circuit design, the complexity and scarcity of data in analog circuitry pose significant challenges. To mitigate these issues, we introduce AnalogCoder, the first training-free LLM agent for designing analog circuits through Python code generation. Firstly, AnalogCoder incorporates a feedback-enhanced flow with tailored domain-specific prompts, enabling the automated and self-correcting design of analog circuits with a high success rate. Secondly,…

Is GPT-4 getting worse over time?

Is GPT-4 getting worse over time?

A new paper making the rounds is being interpreted as saying that GPT-4 has gotten worse since its release. Unfortunately, this is a vast oversimplification of what the paper found. And while the findings are interesting, some of the methods are questionable, so it’s worth digging into the details. One important concept to understand about chatbots is that there is a big difference between capability and behavior. A model that has a capability may or may not display that capability in response to a particular prompt.Chatbots acquire their capabilities through pre-training. It is an expensive process that takes months for the…

Foundational nabs $8M to help developers fix data quality issues faster – SiliconANGLE

Foundational Data Inc., a startup helping enterprises ensure their internal datasets are accurate, today announced that it has raised $8 million to finance growth initiatives.  Viola Ventures and Google LLC’s Gradient Ventures fund led the seed round. They were joined by executives from Meta Platforms Inc., Datadog Inc. and other major tech firms. Against the backdrop of the investment, Foundational Data today announced the general availability of its namesake platform for troubleshooting data quality issues.  Inaccuracies in business information are tricky to spot because their scope is often limited. In an analytics dashboard that contains multiple graphs, a pie chart…
