The competition in the data industry is intensifying as Databricks Inc. vies for dominance. The company has thrown down the gauntlet by open-sourcing its Unity Catalog. Data giants Databricks and Snowflake Inc. hosted events within a week of each other. Last week’s Data + AI Summit showcased Databricks’ increasing momentum and emphasis on collaboration.
