Ataccama Introduces AI Agent For Enhanced Data Management

AI Agent User Interface

Ataccama has launched its new Ataccama ONE AI Agent designed to advance autonomous AI capabilities in data handling and support decision-making processes across various applications.

Ataccama ONE AI Agent is part of the Ataccama ONE data trust platform and can independently execute complex tasks with minimal guidance. The agent autonomously selects the best method for each task, makes corrections as needed, handles complex data requirements on its own, and provides clear outputs for users to review.

According to a report by Gartner, 15% of data-to-day work decisions will be made autonomously through Agentic AI by 2028. AI Agents are becoming increasingly popular in the industry and Ataccama’s launch of the new Ataccama ONE AI Agent aims to capitalize on this growing demand for autonomous decision-making solutions.

The new AI Agent features several enhancements, such as AI-generated test data aimed at increasing productivity and accuracy, improved data security measures, and enhanced capabilities for comprehensive monitoring of data quality at scale.

Ataccama ONE is built on existing AI and ML technologies. This foundation allows it to offer a higher level of independence compared to traditional systems. The AI Agent can automate various data quality (DQ) configurations that previously required manual interventions. Some of the new automation features introduced in this update include automated DQ evaluations, bulk DQ rule creation, and intelligent DQ rule mapping.

Designed for data engineers and business users, the AI Agent seeks to minimize manual efforts in data quality assurance and cleaning processes, potentially leading to lower operational costs and faster workflows.

One of the key challenges that Ataccama is aiming to solve with this new AI Agent is data quality issues. A recent report by Appen revealed a 9 percentage point decline in data accuracy and a 6 percentage point decrease in data availability over the past four years.

“Agentic AI is the next milestone in the evolution of AI, but for these intelligent systems to be capable of making decisions and taking actions autonomously, there needs to trust in data,” said Jay Limburn, Chief Product Officer at Ataccama.

“Agents within enterprises will enable AI systems to interact and collaborate, and data trust will become paramount for effective cooperation and problem-solving. Ataccama is delivering the data trust bridge needed between data sources and data consumers with our Ataccama ONE unified data trust platform which offers data quality, observability, lineage, governance, and master data management in a single solution.”

According to Limburn, AI systems designed for specific tasks, such as data management, are set to enhance efficiency and promote ethical interactions between digital agents. This tailored approach also encourages human-AI collaboration, helping industries maintain high standards and ensuring reliable and trustworthy outcomes.

Ataccama was spun out of Toronto-based data governance firm Adastra in 2007 with a goal to help organizations assess and improve the quality of their data, ensuring that it met compliance and governance standards.

Since then, the company has expanded its offering to include various data management solutions including data observability and master data management. Last week, Ataccama was recognized by Gartner as an Emerging Specialist in its Innovation Guide to Generative AI

The Ataccama ONE platform has emerged as the flagship product of the company. Now with the introduction of the AI Agent, Ataccama ONE looks to simplify data management by enhancing automation and supporting data quality assurance, helping organizations manage their data more effectively and with greater confidence.
